Throughout my career I have always been a hands on leader. I know people learn best in one of three ways; visual, auditory and kinesthetic. Being able to show the employee, explain to the employee or have the employee feel their way through a task is essential. I believe the leader should be able to work alongside all employees regardless of the position in a way that best suits their style of learning. My ability to adapt my style to each individual employee has helped me train stronger employees and create strong relationships. I have managed 30 to 150 employees at a time so I understand how to work in any size organization. A good leader is empathetic to his employee’s needs which is something that I have accomplished throughout my career. I have taken the time to listen and allow the employee to come up with the best design themselves as I coach them along the way. Something that I am most proud of in my career is being able to see my employees grow throughout the company and be promoted and achieve their goals that they have set for themselves. Currently at Fox Run Brands the biggest change I have made is DISC assessments for current and potential employees which allows everyone in the company to understand each employee’s behavior.
