SUMMARY Federal Government Career: I was employed by the Federal Medical Center, Federal Bureau of Prisons, from April 1992 until September 2013, during which time I held a Trust Security Clearance. I completed my professional training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Glynco, Georgia in 1992. I was trained in the use of firearms, life-saving techniques self-defense confrontation avoidance non-verbal communication policies and procedures report writing and all matters of security. I received honorable mention for my dedication and performance in the program. I was second in my class. I held the position of Correctional Officer from 1992 to 2000 and was promoted to Senior Officer Specialist in 2001. I made rounds in my areas of operation prepared security reports for witnessed events checked alarm systems assisted in the training of other staff members responded to emergencies and effectively communicated with individuals with diverse backgrounds, while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. I performed investigations under the direction of the Special Investigative Agent, and was involved in the capture of an escaped inmate from the Federal Prison Camp in 1997. I received numerous awards for exemplary service and performance, which was the basis for my promotion to Correctional Treatment Specialist in 2002. I held the position of Correctional Treatment Specialist from 2002 to 2013, which is a highly regarded and highly coveted professional grade administrative position within the federal government. I was an expert in the interpretation, analysis, and implementation of policy and procedure set forth by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the United States Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and the United States Courts. Among my responsibilities were the preparation of documents used for inmate transfers and release from federal custody. Every aspect of my position required the utmost attention to detail, as per the specifications set forth by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the United States Department of Justice and the United States Court system. I managed a caseload of up to 300 inmates committed to Federal Bureau of Prisons Custody. I analyzed complex cases involving escape history and propensity for violence, and Victim Witness cases. In many cases, when inmates provided cooperation or testimony against others, I maintained documentation which served to keep these individuals separated from each other within the prison system. In many cases, inmates on my caseload had pending state and local charges lodged against them. My job was to ensure that these inmates were transferred into the custody of the appropriate state and local authorities upon their release from federal custody. I have investigated inmate allegations against staff and other inmates. I provided expert advice to my superiors regarding matters of policy interpretation. I received numerous awards for my role in streamlining administrative functions within my department. Furthermore, when called upon, I have provided my services as a translator for German speaking inmates. I completed my Case Manager training at the Management and Specialty Training Center in Aurora, Colorado, in 2002. I began my federal government career as an enlisted soldier in the United States Army I completed Basic Training and Advanced Desert Training at Fort Bliss Texas. I received advanced tactical training in survival techniques and weapons deployment at the White Sands Tactical Training Center in White Sands New Mexico. I was the highest ranking member of my class and held the position of Platoon Guide. I received advanced training in Counter-Counter Intelligence the Fort Bliss Intelligence Training Center Fort Bliss Texas. I achieved the highest final score in my graduating class. Following my training I was awarded a Secret/Top Secret Security Clearance. Subsequently I was transferred to Germany as an Intelligence and Operations Specialist. I transported classified materials from my duty station to military installations throughout the European Theatre. I received commendations and awards for my steadfast attention to detail. Prior to my discharge from the Army I was recommended for Officers Training School. My highest rank achieved was E-4 Non Commissioned Officer and I was on the promotion list for E-5 Sargent when I completed my tour of duty. My term of service was from October 1986 to October 1989. Academics I obtained a double Bachelor of Arts in Russian Area Studies and Political Science from the University of Kentucky in December 1986. As a Russian Area Studies major I completed numerous courses in Russian language culture history economics and government. As a Political Science major I excelled in a myriad of courses including economics political theory international relations world history and national defense policy. My GPA in regard to courses in my major was 3.5 and my GPA overall was 2.93. Following my discharge from the Army I decided to pursue my passion for guitar. Therefore in 1991 I studied guitar exclusively for one academic year at Morehead State University. I made the Dean's List for my outstanding academic performance. I have continued my musical studies with a private instructor since that time.
