I understand that I am supposed to create a cover letter that should immediately grab your attention, make me stand out from the rest of the crowd, or if I’m really good, blow you away! Furthermore, I know in order to impress you I should demonstrate my use of verbs that convey power and action to my strengths and skills. However, I shall take a different approach. All I really want you to do is read my resume, and get to know me. Moreover, if you take time to thoughtfully review my resume - you should get a big picture understanding of who I am, what I have accomplished, and what I can do. I know I have both a unique entrepreneurial, business, and educational background that would be quite useful to the right employer. Let’s face it; how many applicants (or people you may know) do you come across that can go from being a land developer to a physicist? That should give you an idea of the range of my ability. What I seek is a position in sales, management, or business development within a scientific, construction, or energy related industry. In addition, the employment I seek in a “perfect world” would be working for a single company over a period of the next 15-17 years. During this time period, I expect my future employer to allow, encourage, and support my professional growth within the organization. Lastly, you should know that I have a type “A” personality. I enjoy being busy and productive. I have no problem working weekends, nights or traveling. Futhermore I'd like to think that I am a good problem solver.
