Career Summary Twenty seven years of experience in retail merchandising and sales. Having been on both sides of the business I have a unique view of the business from both perspectives. This enables me to sell with confidence in that I understand the needs of the buyer. I have enabled several of my staff to achieve promotion to the next level and beyond. * Seventeen years as a sales professional in a variety of companies primarily focused on housewares. Focus included product placement, financial analyses to target appropriate customers, margin management, promotional planning, inventory forecasting, sales team management and development, customer relationship development and account management to maximize sales and partnerships with customers. During my sales tenure I've had the opportunity to call on almost every major retailer in the United States. * Ten years as a retail merchant with two large department store retailers. Focus included assortment planning, new product development, vendor negotiations, promotional planning for direct mail and ROP, inventory management, margin control and management, and people development within the organizations for my direct staff. Developed key vendor relationships that led to greater levels of support from the vendor community.
