I have a deep-rooted passion for Asian food, particularly Japanese, and I have always enjoyed international travel and investigating other cultures. These passions are among the strongest qualifications that make me perfectly suited to serve as U.S.-based food and business consultant. My professional background is also uniquely suited to the position for Marketing, Research & Development/ Import & Export coordination/ Sales & Purchasing., etc. After earning my degree in international business trade, I started Hidemi Enterprises Co., Ltd., a food distribution company in Vancouver, Canada. The parent company, Fujiya Seika Honpo Co., Ltd. (est. 1913), is a food manufacturer specializing in “Mame-gashi”, a Japanese confection. In 2005, I established a U.S. company, Hidemi, Inc., to satisfy the demands of our North American and other world markets. After the earthquake tsunami in Japan, the FDA instituted strict radiation regulations, including 30-day holds. Due to lack of guarantee, I made the decision to dissolve the company. Running these businesses, I became aware of the differences in the Japanese, American and Canadian markets. The North American population, for example, has multi-cultural food preferences. These differences inspired my research of Canadian and American food preferences, which I conducted at my retail store and at national and local trade shows. As company director, I have demonstrated strategic abilities by developing new products based on research, including product taste, color, shape and packaging as well as name and concept. I provided feedback to the parent company, who continually submitted samples for testing. This research led to the creation of "Blueberry Na Mame", a successfully product in Canada and the U.S. I am committed to the U.S market, having lived and worked in North America for over 15 years. I have interacted with government and business entities, including the FDA and health departments. I have also demonstrated cultural sensitivity to American and Japanese organizations. I am familiar with ingredients, food allergy information, nutrition facts, and FDA regulations including FDA facility registration and FDA prior notice on import of food items. I am an enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on and results-driven customer service, sales representative & store/office manager ho continuously demonstrate a high level of commitment and business acumen.
