I began my career with Life Sciences in Department of Biology at Stanford University in 2003 focusing on gene expression and regulation in E.coli after my Ph.D, and later moved to Department of Biological Chemistry at UCLA where I was working on miRNA processing mechanism. After these two excellent trainings, I moved to USC being a Research Scientist to study notch signaling related to angiogenesis, two years later I joined the department of OB/GYN at UCLA-harbor Medical Center as an Assistant Professor at early time of 2011. With seed grant support, I was focusing on the epigenetic regulation of energy sensor SIRT1, nuclear receptor PPARG and miRNA profiling using Non-Alcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD). My responsibility is to perform routine study and instruct master students and fellows in the lab, and to write up manuscript for publication, most importantly, keep submitting proposals for possible grant support (one RO3 submitted in 2012, one R21 submitted last Feb. and pending for review).
