Goal= CCNA + Security

Dear Hiring Manager, You may be wondering why a former Casino Dealer with no technology experience is applying for an entry level IT position. If so, please take a moment to review my qualifications. In March of 2008 it became apparent that Ohio would legalize gambling and my employment outlook would change by the end of 2012. In July of 2008 I enrolled full time at the University of Phoenix pursuing a degree in Information Technology with a concentration in System Security. I completed my B.S. in May of 2011 and will graduate with a Masters in Information Systems in April of 2013. My studies have covered a vast amount of IT topics that are listed on my resume. Currently I am preparing for the Network +, CCNA, and CCNA + Security certifications. My goal is to obtain each certification by January 2013. The purpose is to bring a quantifiable skill set and superior education that will make me an asset to any company. As you can see, I am fully prepared for a career change and I bring a work ethic that will exceed your expectations. In sixteen years as a Casino Dealer, I dealt with the public on a variety of levels. In an effort to provide a pleasant gaming session for the patrons, I sharpened my empathy and public relation skills. I believe that these qualities enable a customer service professional to mitigate any difficult situation and move in a positive direction. This is why I have chosen to focus my job search on positions of customer service, help desk, account rep, and sales.
