Business Startup/Development/Restructuring
Grew Richard B. Soscia, CPA, PC’s revenues 500% over a six-year period to $1.2M+ per year; propelled annual revenues to $3.2M+ for Summit Financial Services Group. Named one of ‘America’s Best Financial Planners’ by the Consumer Research Council of America.
Directed site selection and facility layout as interim CFO responsible for establishing New York City’s first thermal window manufacturing facility; secured initial financing and helped generate sales of $5M+.
Took over for two years, as interim CFO, a furniture re-furbisher threatened by bankruptcy; brought in a CEO, created a payment plan, relocated the business, won contracts with Fortune 500 companies, restored profitability, delivered $1.2M in annual revenue, paid off liabilities and the mortgage, and sold the business for a $550K profit.
Guided the initial merger of a media company and tech company, including securing financing. Reorganized the tech company’s loans with creditors and restructured the business to meet obligations and improve profitability in the face of financial and operational difficulties. Negotiated the divestiture of the media company as an independent business that grew sales to $2M annually.
Obtained financing to enable five local partners to purchase their branch after the national advertising agency they served merged with a larger agency; negotiated the buyout for $750K, secured $600K in working capital, upgraded to digital graphics equipment, and served as COO, advising on business strategies as revenues grew to $5M per year.
Counseled the owner of the largest bagel manufacturer in upstate New York to eliminate new stores and routes, close two unprofitable stores, and sell two stores, which saved $10M and freed money for real estate investments, resulting in a 30% increase in profits.
Process/Manufacturing Improvement
Initiated a re-organization and implemented regional centralized inventory control and purchasing systems that resulted in a PwC client (Fortune 400 company) achieving a $50M increase in profitability.
Led the effort at Curtis Wright Aerospace to save a $10M contract with Pratt & Whitney; transitioned an entire manufacturing profit center and related ancillary services (including scheduling and purchasing) from a pyramid structure to a customer-oriented center. Boosted time online from 40% to 75%. Realized an additional $500K in annual profits via cost reductions.
Saved Summit Financial Services Group $100K+ annually by replacing manual systems with computerized ones and structuring the business into natural sub-divisions for optimal efficiency and automation.
