Work Accomplishments:
• Played an active role in a team identifying and developing a strategic plan to address the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center’s loss-making integrated practicing units (IPU), playing an active role on the team conducting annual financial analysis, and planning developmental strategies.
• Generating resources and funding for the new Ardeal Research Institute (ARI) lab, securing a $40K equipment donation from GlaxoSmithKline, and writing and receiving a $10K startup grant from the Transylvania County Economic Development Board.
• Being instrumental in building a network for ARI’s future collaboration in regional economic development projects, playing a major role in forging collaborations with Kings Bio, the NC Arboretum Germ Plasma Repository, and Brevard College.
• Spearheading the startup of Ardeal Pharma, Inc. including being awarded the Company Inception Loan (CIL) from the NC Biotechnology Center, authored business plan, achieving renewal of the licensing agreement of API rights and manufacturing at PharmAgra Labs, justifying continued drug development of the API, and building 2 major collaborations with a regional biotechnology company and Duke University Medical Center.
