Individuals who came into Stony Brook to be Chiefs of Service, came in with Tenure. I came in as a fellow 1983-85), but I was the first person in the medical school who was awarded Tenure who did not come in with tenure (1989), and I was elected to tenure unanimously by the Stony Brook University Tenure committee. Oversight of Coronary Care Unit during my Clinical Months. Performed Coronary Consults on patients on all services including ICU. Read ECG's. Served on the Clinical Cardiology Service full time 4 months a year. Full oversight of the Laboratory of Molecular Cardiology as Chief of the Lab.
