In my last position as Territory Sales Manager with a contract sales company, I cold called as well as called on existing customers in light construction, the oil and gas industry, highway construction, mining and industrial plants to determine their equipment needs for small jobs as well as large projects. I quickly established strong working relationships with customers by listening to their needs and concerns, providing them with the best products to meet those needs, and by following up to ensure satisfaction. This rapport enabled me to develop a relatively untapped market into a profitable territory within a short period of time. Prior to my sales experience, I served as Equipment Manager for a large New Orleans-based highway construction company. In this capacity, I honed not only my equipment knowledge (including costs, brands, life cycles, etc.), but also my financial expertise including setting up amortization and depreciation schedules. During my tenure, I was instrumental in increasing bottom-line profits by implementing a maintenance program and a program to disburse used or outdated equipment to sources both in the United States and overseas.
