SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS * Have excellent customer service skills. * Answer questions and provides information to customers. * Operate cash register or electronic scanner. * Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products or services, take or enter orders, cancel accounts, or obtain details of complaints. * Cash checks. * Learn prices, stock shelves, mark prices, weigh items, issue trading stamps, and redeem food stamps and coupons. * Monitor checkout stations, issue and remove cash as needed, and assign workers to reduce customer delay. * Receive sales slip, cash, check, voucher, or charge payments and issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customer. * Resolve customer's complaints. * Sell tickets and other items to customer. * Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins. * Receive payment and record receipts for services. * File and maintain records. * Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems. * Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation. * Bag, box, or wrap merchandise.
