Established a self filing program, customs compliance, post entry, and entry audit procedures. Applied for a filer code, ACE (Automated Commercial Environment to allow for monthly payment of duties, C-TPAT and importer self filing. Research and obtained an international freight insurance policy. Saved the company $64,500 in customs brokerage fees per year and with the suggestion of changing freight terms from CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) to FOB (Free on Board) saved the company $300.00 per container or $288,000 a year in ocean freight charges alone. These changes streamlined the process allowing the company to operate more efficiently. Also applied company for C-TPAT.
