RssHealthcare Administrator

To whom it may concern, I started my journey in healthcare first as a practitioner gaining exposure to various environments of care including all acute care areas (ICU,CCU,NICU,PICU, E.R.), outpatient rehabilitation, sub acute care, home care (contractual), and LTAC. I explored all of these areas to possibly find my niche, but also so that I might have a more holistic approach to healthcare. I then started to apply my strong leadership skills as a team leader and shift supervisor for departments I worked for. Next, I decided to assume the role of departmental manager. I have been in this role now for 7 years. I also decided, with the advice from my V.P. at the time, to obtain a master of science in healthcare administration degree in order to utilize my successful leadership abilities at a higher level. Now that I have completed this step, I feel that I am more than ready to serve a progressive organization as a hospital administrator. The necessary changes that I needed to make in each of the departments I led were difficult, and involved some necessary turnover in order to ensure optimal staffing in order to enhance each department’s efficiency. I am not a stranger to making decisions that are tough, but necessary in attaining a departments’ and an organizations’ goals. I was privileged to assist a CV steering committee in redefining a service process concerning pre-assessment testing. On this committee, I was able to work with physicians, other directors, and administration in the task of determining the best process most importantly for the patient, but for all other parties as well. We were able to decide on a solution that eliminated a large amount of dissatisfaction for both patient and physicians. I have enjoyed interacting in a multi-disciplinary approach throughout my career as it has been instrumental in the success I have experienced in assisting the departments I served in improving their service process and related satisfaction scores. I am now ready to pursue my goal of becoming a hospital administrator. If you feel I have the education and experience that could benefit your organization, please do not hesitate to contact me so that I might answer any questions you may have for me. Sincerely, Dave Thompson.
