VP/Chief Engineer/Engineering Director

I am an executive level manager with experience in Program Management as a Chief Engineer for General Motors. I have a strong technical background in both product design and development that is complemented by a good understanding of business principles. I have spent most of my career with responsibility for the entire vehicle. I have managed numerous programs from an all new major vehicle program progressing from concept through launch and followed by many model change enhancements to meet new legal requirements, improve quality and reduce cost. I possess a strong product vision with the ability to see concepts and solutions that others seem to overlook. For example, when faced without enough volume to sustain production I developed a plan to install an existing engine at low cost to increase volume. I have been successful because of my work ethic, strong product focus and desire to produce results. I am a motivator and team leader with ability to recognize and develop talent into high performance dedicated teams. My leadership style is “management by walking around” which helps me to build a strong rapport with team members. I believe that to be successful, a manager must build a strong relationship with the work force, utilize their strengths and develop their weaknesses. Additionally, because of my years of experience I am able to quickly analyze and process data to make sound technical and business decisions.
