- • Used Shainin’s method as one of the problem solving techniques, to define the “Green Y” (ultimate goal), and to identify and ultimately kill the “Red X” (problem).
• Developed the Process Control Charts and conducted Capability Analysis to support supplier changes.
• Prepared the “standard operating procedure (SOP)” for the operators and job setters working on different machines.
• Optimized the flush process on assembly lines using Design of Experiments (DOE) as a tool. Three factors were varied and their effects were analyzed using Minitab software.
• Worked with Production Control and Logistics (PC&L) to determine the cause of ‘inventory loss’ of two particular part types and recommended different ways of reducing the same.
• Continuous improvement project which improved First Time Quality (FTQ) and reduced scrap by 20%.
• Worked in a team to create PPAP (Production Part Approval) documents by laying out the PFD’s (Process Flow Diagrams), PCP’s (Process Control Plan), and FMEA’s (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis).
• Implemented Lean Manufacturing Techniques to reduce the Lead Time of the “M2 bodies” from 9 Days to 4 Days and extra inventory by 40%.
