The Development Director will: � Develop and implement tactics that increase my job across the Americas. � Establish and manage relationships with key accounts, including firms, associations, universities and sponsors. � Ensure that effective and high impact development and service activities are developed and delivered for key audiences, to grow and satisfy membership. � Motivate and manage the Development team (currently 3 in New York, 1 in Toronto,1 in Chicago). � Collaborate with the marketing team in developing sales and marketing communications that are fit for development purposes. � Develop and manage alternative revenue streams, including training, publishing, dispute resolution. � Be accountable for the development budget. � Have specific, agreed targets for various development campaigns, including membership growth, retention and other revenue generation. � Travel for short periods around the Americas and possibly beyond (including coordination with global development teams natin wide. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate: � Significant development experience: defining, developing and managing all aspects of sales/business development campaigns (ideally, developing membership and related products) � Demonstrated capacity for targeting customers and selling a product or service in a competitive market, from campaign conception to effective implementation and evaluation of outcomes. � Excellent communications skills. Significant experience of identifying and developing key communication messages. � Strong management ability, suited to engaging and working with a complex array of audiences and stakeholders to deliver objectives. Recent experience of people management and development. � A self-motivated, entrepreneurial thinker who can work successfully in a rapidly-evolving environment. � A team player with good leadership skills who can lead, support and develop a small but growing team � Knowledge of real estate and construction industries preferred. � Well versed in new media.
