CollapseAccomplishments

Highlights:

Getting hired for my first job in Computers as a Network Operations Engineer for Altavista. Having big, tough-looking Security Guards at the SF Department of Human Services stop me in my tracks to compliment me on how well I treated my clients. These were not the kind of people that were prone to praise, believe me, so I took the compliments to heart. Having my clients at the SF Department of Human Services actually start crying when they heard I was leaving. Being named "Sales Counselor of the Month" at Circuit City for being #1 in Computer Sales. Developed IIS-hosted Intranet for Worldwide Tech Support Department at Gupta Tecnnologies Technical Translation of German-to English - Coproduction of huge VAR Training Module on Gupta Team Developer (4GL Programming Environment) Being named by Lufthansa Airlines in their "Layover Aktuell" as the preferred German-speaking Sales contact at Circuit City on Van Ness Ave in SF for all Lufthansa employees. "Er spricht hervorragend Deutsch" ("He speaks outstanding German") Having worked as a Cab Driver, SuperShuttle Driver and Chauffeur while going to school, I was a very SF savvy individual at one point. A man who knew nothing about SF, left it all up to me as his Chauffeur to make sure he and his wife had a great time on his wife's birthday. At the end of the night I got a $100+ dollar tip, but most important was that the man said that I had made his wife extremely happy with him on her birthday. I was under some serious pressure there and I was so happy that it turned out well for them.

Companies I like:

Google, TRADOS, SAP, Oracle, HP

CollapseResponsibilities

Doing bilingual Tech Support (Spanish) I wrote several technical how-to documents for Spanish-speaking clients so that they were able to not only register more quickly with our company (at $200 per client), but also help familiarize them with our site and start the bidding/buying process much more expediently. I also developed a Knowledge Base that not only helped me do my job better, but will ultimately help countless others do the same as well.
