Internal/external customer service. Responsible for benefits, human resources, and employee help lines. Brief new/existing employees on benefits: health, dental, life, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), disability, retirement, Employee Tuition Assistance Program, 401k enrollments, Administer Pension and Retiree Benefits, Prepare expense reports and make travel arrangements. Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA), Cafeteria Plan, and Open enrollment. Complete/verify accuracy of benefits and human resources paperwork. Payroll verify that all changes to coverage are reflected on monthly medical/disability/life/401k reports; initiate premium payments due to carrier. Prepare paperwork for submission to Payroll/ERS/insurance carriers. Execute employee payroll deductions for health/optional coverage’s chosen at time of hire or changed throughout the fiscal year; verify/correct inaccuracies between systems. Respond to medical support orders for child support t responsibilities in verifying and/or en rolling uninsured dependents per the Family Code.
