I am extremely proud of the project that I instigated and spearheaded while employed at AdvancePCS where we migrated from and IMS DB based Claims Repository to a DB2 based Claims Repository. Thus project served as an Ice Breaker for many other projects that came later along with other projects which migrated from Tape to DB2 or Flat File to DB2.

I have no ideal company. I only wish that I could find a company where I could migrate into other aspects, like Project Management, so as to be a more viable employee.

  • • Recently completed work on a project to take new National Provider Information (NPI) and pass that through various programs to ultimately wind up on various DB2 Tables. • Completed a project which incorporated a new field into the monthly process. This field is used to reduce the amount of money due the client since it was already paid through another source. • Worked on a project to convert a Drug Claims activity file into the standard format so it can be incorporated and propagated throughout their system for a new client. This involves converting their historical data first and then ultimately ongoing monthly. Once converted the data is sent out for publication on a special web site. • Worked on a project to add columns to one of the major DB2 tables utilized by the Backend Reporting group.

  • • Developed, tested, debugged, maintained, and documented a new front end systems application called Sales Transaction History. This application is a dual platform system with direct communication between AIX Store Terminals and the Mainframe/Host. This application was written in Cobol using CICS in batch functionality. • Successfully completed Phase II of the project where I will be installing new code on the Host system to perform updates for any/all returns made. • I have developed and coded from specifications, written specifications, maintains existing programs, created new programs, and produces program and system documentation. • Analysis: Gathers business requirements. I have mapped to business requirements and created specifications. • Testing: I applied and participated in programming and testing techniques and tools such as structured programming, code walk-through and audits, and program testing/debugging. • I collaborated with a few different individuals on the AIX Side while also working/supervising 1 other individual

  • • Successfully reduced number of jobs on nightly schedule for Claim Load Jobs from 25 jobs down to 4 for loading of the DB2 Claims Tables • Integral team member responsible for migrating and converting the Claims Repository Database from IMS to DB2 • Lead team member responsible for the enhancements required by HIPAA. • Worked on conversion and rewrite of Claims Online Display System, under CICS to use native SQL instead of calling 1 of 6 subprograms which were DB2 Conversions of IMS Programs designed to retrieve the data in the same exact fashion as it did with IMS.
