As a supervisor for the part sequencing and additional support service I was given first hand the vital role costomer service can play. Successful communication with the plant was essential in shuttling the proper materials on the proper shuttle,and during the proper time. Any issues or problems that do arise must be dealt with and neutralized immediately. Successful customer service not only makes possible the preventative maitenance but the trouble shooting for the facility as well. This all contributes in keeping the assembly line running, and completed cars rolling off it. The financial consequence of downed assembly line times is approx. 20K every minute the line stays down and operations has to run overtime in order to meet our customer's daily quota.
