Highlights:
As a Director of Economic Development at the Millville Housing Authority, I was charged with the task of administering a one-year, $1 Million federal EDSS grant. During my one year tenure administering a pilot program, I developed a grant program that would become the ROSS grant, a national initiative. Prominent and unique aspects of the program were its emphasis on higher education and business development. The EDSS pilot grant program was the recipient of the 1996 NAHRO for excellence in public housing initiatives. As Grants Administrator at the Chester Housing Authority, I oversaw the application and administration of FSS, EDSS, Section 8, Community Education and Community Policing Grants. I also provided assistance in the development of the Hope VI grant initiative which began the $52 million revitalization of the City of Chester’s public housing stock. My additional responsibilities included providing management with hands-on support on managerial, organizational-development, operational and technical matters for contracted providers within a multi-disciplinary federal government project. The Community Policing project was the recipient of a NAHRO award in 1998. As an Independent Consultant, I provided comprehensive multidisciplinary services to a broad array of small businesses and non-profits. Included among these services was strategic planning, grant development/administration, management/staff/board training. I served statewide coalitions, grassroots organizations, entrepreneurs, and regional human services agencies. As the Special Assistant to the Secretary of State of New Jersey, I functioned behind the scenes to assure the vision of a cabinet member came to fruition. I coordinated the statewide diversity initiative and functioned as a surrogate during state hearings, labor negotiations, and interstate commerce. Primary focus areas were community affairs, education, commerce, and issues “hot button” issues that impacted directly on the quality of life of residents of New Jersey. I worked extensively with elected officials and government officials to promote legislative agenda.Companies I like:
