OF SIGNIFICANT PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS * Start-up Leadership - Member of the leadership team in two domestic greenfield manufacturing and new product launch programs responsible for the infrastructure, operational, and organizational development of the Supply Chain Management organization. Guided development of operational processes employing Lean principles for the Purchasing, Production Planning, Inventory Control, Logistics, and Supplier Quality functions. * Program Management - identified, structured, and developed supply base to support Wolf Appliance Company start-up delivering high performance, innovation driven, sophisticated features. Applied technologies were recognized as "industry first" in the June 2003 issue of Appliance Magazine. * Strategy Development - Developed and implemented a comprehensive Tier 1 sourcing strategy supporting Whirlpool's new freestanding gas range program resulting in the reduction of $2.3 million in start-up capital investment and $180,000 in ongoing annual operating budget. The initiative also resulted in the establishment of only 50 suppliers supporting plant operations as compared to 250 suppliers supporting similar size company operations. The first Tier-1 structure attempted in the company's history and featured in the November 1996 issue of Appliance Manufacturer trade magazine as "industry first". * Lean Transformation - Conducted the company training of hourly and salaried personnel and led lean transformation of machining operations at West Irving Die Cast Company achieving dramatic improvements in throughput, quality, and inventory that led to the company's delisting from GM's Top Focused Supplier List 6 months ahead of schedule. * Process Improvement - Awarded Whirlpool Corporate Procurement Certificate in recognition of developing and implementing an Early Supplier Involvement and Selection process considered "best-in class" which resulted in over $1,500,000 in annual cost improvements, through the application of new technology and operational efficiencies. The process also led to reduced risk in the on-time launch of new product line and the start-up of the Tulsa Division. The process became the foundation for a company-wide structured Early Supplier Involvement and Selection program. * Professional Development - Recruited as the first internal candidate into Whirlpool Corporation's elite and industry recognized Executive Management Development Program. A structured training and developmental assignment program that establishes a pool of talent from which the company draws candidates to fill leadership positions. * Innovation - Awarded U.S. Patent 5,175,413 for the design of a watchdog safety circuit preventing lockup conditions in electronic controls for cooking applications.
