Technically Sound and Well-rounded Rolla Chng has a solid foundation in technical thinking coupled with decades experience in communication and organization building. After receiving a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Civil Engineering she spent five years working for an Engineering Consulting Firm. During this time, she obtained hands-on field experience using equipment for monitoring, sampling, contaminant remediation, operating a hazardous groundwater treatment facility, as well as preparing formal reports for clients. In the office environment under the guidance of Dr. Eric Harmsen, she coordinated a company-wide numerical modeling team to pitch as a resource for client projects. She presented her hydrologic modeling work and research at various conferences and was voted Best Junior Staff Presentation at a company-wide showcase. She merged starting her family with the starting of a small family business that has expanded twice and is now operating in a space more than 3 times the size of its original training space. Following the age of her children, she entered the classroom, decoding a new challenge sharing her mathematical knowledge through teaching Algebra 1 to 9th graders in Baltimore City Public Schools Continuing developing her organizational and technical communication skills teaching Adult Basic Education for more than 10 years at Baltimore City Community College where she developed a science class. Now that her children are grown, Rolla is looking for an opportunity to take a position utilizing her professional engineering license and strong technical knowledge. Combined with her communication and organizational experience, Rolla will be an excellent addition to your engineering team.
