I’ve built my 30 year active duty career (Army and Coast Guard) believing In service before self, helping others, mentoring subordinates, and supporting my senior leadership. As a junior Army officer, I was a detachment commander for twelve environmental health technicians and deployed with them during Desert Shield/Storm. When I returned, I transferred to FT Belvoir and served as the senior environmental health officer for FT Belvoir, A.P. Hill, and Vint Hill Farms Station.
In 1995, an opportunity to serve in the Coast Guard allowed me to not only use my environmental health skillset, but also exercise my training in industrial hygiene and emergency response. I advanced through a variety of environmental health positions until finally filling the role of senior environmental health officer in Coast Guard Headquarters (2002 - 2007). Since then I’ve served in hard to fill senior administrative assignments. Now that I’m ready to retire from active duty, I’d like an opportunity to return to my environmental health roots. An assignment to work as a supervisor of your environmental health programs is exactly what I’m looking for.
I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss this position with you. If you have questions or would like to schedule an interview, please contact me by phone at 202-813-7684 or by email at wade.b.mcconnell@gmail.com. I have enclosed my resume for your review, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Wade McConnell
