Responsibilities
Lead the management and accounting functions for the University’s alternative and traditional investment portfolios, including the endowment, operating funds, and bond financing proceeds.
Develop, implement, and monitor long-term capital planning models, operating budget forecasts, and financial ratios for communication to external rating agencies (such as Moody’s), lenders, and the University’s Board of Trustees.
Serve as a resource member of the Finance and Investment Committees of the Board of Trustees and advise and collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer and Board of Trustees to manage endowment funds, retirement plans, debt portfolio, and implement new financial policies.
Serve as direct contact for external rating agencies and California Educational Facilities Authority (CEFA) and administer commercial and investment banking services across various campus departments.
Conduct analysis of operating budget, cash flow, and financial statements to present findings and recommend strategies to improve financial operations and health to the Chief Financial Officer and the Board of Trustees.
Participate in quarterly meetings with the accounting and budget offices to monitor the University’s operating budget.
