CollapseDescription

As a passionate Health and Safety professional with experience delivering results in a wide-variety of environments, I read you’re posting for the Safety Officer position with great interest. My experience directly aligns with the qualifications you are seeking, and I am confident that I would be a valuable addition to Safety & Environmental Health Division. With over 6 years of successful leadership in occupational safety and health management, construction and emergency management services, safety prevention programs, and workers’ compensation claims management, I am an expert in training diverse teams, while ensuring compliance with safety legislation, regulations, and standards. I approach my work with dedication, integrity, attention-to-detail, and a passion for individual safety. While my extensive on-the-job experience has afforded me a well-rounded technical skill set, I excel at:  Developing and delivering effective training programs to ensure the health and safety of employees and the community.  Mitigating risk through strategic and thorough hazard risk assessment.  Developing strong relationships with all levels of staff and leadership, along with key decision-makers and stakeholders. In addition, my Management and Leadership skills obtained from the military as a Squad Leader, Platoon Leader and Company First Sergeant, provide me with delegating and coaching skills to train and mentor managers in a variety of essential skills that are core to operating a program. I also had the opportunity to supervise Management Interns, Student Engineers and Senior Drafting Aids for the City of San Diego over a four year period. I have a strong work ethic, and as a team member, depend upon effective communication. Communication is a vital tool in so many situations such as writing a report, providing instructions, and directing team members. I am very confident that my professional experience, combined with my education and training, meet and exceed the requirements necessary to excel as your new Safety Officer. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how I could contribute to the continued success of your department. Attached is my resume for your review and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon to schedule an in-person interview.
