CAREER SUMMARY: I am a recently retired, highly skilled and motivated young woman, from more than 30 years of Federal government employment. I have attained excellent executive assistant/office administrator skills during my 30+ years of diverse administrative experience in government and private industry. Through regular positions and special assignments, I gained a broad understanding of the missions, goals, and programs of any Agency or Department I was employed with. I have excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding organizational and office administration skills, including financial management, personnel management, database expertise, and technical support capabilities. I am skilled in all aspects of office operations. I am able to establish priorities and implement decisions to achieve both immediate and long-term goals. I have experience maintaining office work flow. I have tracked and maintained files managed correspondence and information maintained inventory and, procured office equipment, services, and supplies. I believe that my clearance is still active. I am skilled in developing, implementing, and managing office procedures and systems, with extensive experience providing informational, logistical, and technical support for meetings and special events. I am valued by senior executives for my ability to independently manage the office, improve systems, meet deadlines, and implement new administrative procedures. I have received many, many performance awards for my expertise in office administration. In my positions I have been skilled in assisting with program functions supporting and communicating with senior managers coordinating work load and projects ensuring compliance and quality control. I am also effective at responsively serving customers and constituents regarding activities and information. In producing correspondence, communicating with external and internal offices, and assisting with major projects, I analyze situations, projects and procedures in order to support the Office mission efficiently and professionally. Using a variety of advanced software and automated administrative systems, I can prepare documents and reports, make travel arrangements (domestic and international), set up conferences and meetings, prepare time and attendance reports, and keep calendars and schedules. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: While I was employed at BUMED HQ in the Office of Facilities (3/2011 - 11/2012), I initiated the quality assurance/quality control duties that caused the average days to completion of GSA work tickets to drop drastically from 49 days to the completion of a ticket to 0.5 days to completion of a ticket. I single-handedly dissolved a backlog of approximately 500 unprocessed Unscheduled Work Requests and Reimbursable Work Authorizations by compiling and analyzing data related to the receipt and delivery of support services by GSA staff and hired contractors. While I was employed with the Dept. of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, Office of Health Policy, Division of Health Financing Policy as a Secretary (OA) 12/1998 - 9/2003, I had the opportunity to provide major administrative assistance to some major health care initiatives. Our office put some very important legislation into play, the HIPAA Regulation, the SCHIP, and some major modifications to the Medicare program. The HIPAA Regulation is an Act that protects an individual's health insurance information. SCHIP is the State Children's Health Insurance Program which ensures that States provide under-privileged children adequate health insurance. As the Democratic regime was coming to an end, Capitol Hill required that we finalize these documents before the Republicans took presidential office. That was a crucial time and the interaction with Capitol Hill was amazing. I assisted the Analysts with getting all this done as well as my regular administrative duties that were required for the Division. We got it all done and met all of our deadlines and these initiatives have set major precedence in our nation's health care programs.
