COVER LETTER: Margaret N. Wild Margaret N. Wild March 7, 2017 Annette Webb, M.Ed., Director Dear Search Committee: This letter states my interest in the Job Number 201611303642 (Bilingual Early Education Coordinator) position that is listed on U C Riverside employment opportunity website. My education and professional experience are a strong match for the primary responsibilities of this opportunity, and I am able to provide leadership and strategic direction for creating programs and initiatives to support student success and for writing and implementing grant proposals. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills underlie an ability to develop curriculum and manage collaborative projects in order to facilitate community and corporate support and engagement. During graduate school at the University of California, Riverside, I obtained my Master of Arts in Education with focus areas in Early Childhood and Child Development and my Doctor of Philosophy in Education with specialization areas of Family Influences on Development, Research Methods and Child Development. These areas of specialization were offered under the Educational Psychology and Special Education subfield. During graduate school at California State University, San Bernardino, I earned my Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology. I am enthusiastic about applying these educational foundations to the specific goals and objectives of the Education and Credentials department at University of California Riverside, Extension. I have taught school in Riverside County for five years and have current credentials for Secondary (Home Economics and Physical Education) Elementary level (Multiple Subjects Credential), and Preschool level (CTC Child Development Permit, Program Director). My university experience includes 22 years writing courses and grants in Education and Psychology, as well as administrating, implementing and coordinating traditional and First 5 State and Local grant-funded programs. The majority of these programs involved outreach and training to English and Spanish speaking education providers. I have also served students as an academic and professional growth counselor and assisted students to apply for their child development permits. The opportunity to serve Early Care, Education and Development students and their families through high quality, cost-effective, evidenced-based programs involves intensive work, clear communication skills and attention to details. My experience on research projects in Education and Psychology, includes analytical grant-writing, statistical analyses, report writing, career counseling, recruiting and talking to students and parents. As a Principal Investigator for multiple Education and Public Service grants, I have years of experience providing fiscal oversight to programs designed to improve Educational and Professional quality. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT # 91521, California Board of Behavioral Sciences.), I am uniquely prepared to work with different cultures and personalities in support of education and public outreach programs. Thank you for reviewing my qualifications. Sincerely, Margaret N. Wild Margaret N. Wild, Ph.D., M.S., LMFT
