CAREER SUMMARY Present: Industrial Hygiene Supervisor, Safe State / The University of Alabama. - Conduct onsite OSHA consultation to 100s of Alabama's small business. - Subject matter expert in OSHA standards. - Provide technical advice to employers on recognition and abatement of hazards. - Promote speaking engagements, publicity displays, and training seminars. - Hold qualification of Certified Industrial Hygienist (number 6500). - Held qualification of a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (number 4727) until 2014. - Mentor to the Industrial Hygiene staff. - Perform onsite evaluations of subordinate consultants. - Instructor for multiple courses (e.g. HUD radiation safety, lead and asbestos). Past: Safety Administrator - Southern Research Institute - Birmingham. - Tracked with no faults noted all environmental / health programs. - Held duty as assistant radiation safety officer for 60 isotopes. - Single point of contact for OSHA, EPA, DOT and controlled drugs programs. Private: Employed as a private consultant for a defense contractor at Ft. Rucker. - Conducted vapor, noise and dust monitoring. - Taught Non-Ionizing radiation, toxicology and HAZCOM for prep courses. - Taught EPA (CERCLA) for Central Alabama Community College. Military: United States Army - Currently retired at the permanent rank of COLONEL. - Supervised/commanded over four thousand personnel and millions of dollars in assets. - Deployed to nine foreign counties over three continents to include a combat command. - Commanded Alabama's 46th Civil Support Team (WMD), the state's EMA force. - Worked the nuclear portion of Army Europe's EMA disaster response cell.
