PROFILE * I am a Highly Qualified, Certified Teacher presently serving as an Instructional Specialist in a middle school setting. This is my 12th year in the teaching profession. * I am a Non-traditional teacher whose work background includes counseling battered, homeless, addicted, and previously incarcerated women. * In addition to this, I have served as a juvenile probation officer for the Office of Juvenile Justice, a counselor at Jetson Correctional Center for Youth, as well as a university-based police officer. * I am a graduate Redesigning Lessons, Re-envisioning Principals (RLRP) of AIE's School Leadership Program. * I am a former a Teacher of the Year 2013-14 * I am the Professional Development Coordinator for East Baton Rouge Federation of Teachers. * I am a trained workshop facilitator for Strategies for Student Success (SSS) and have presented and delivered several workshops in area schools, District Professional Development Centers, and surrounding parishes. * I stand ready to enrich my experiences as an educator and continue to serve as a supporter of educators, students, parents, and the community at large through educational activism.
