CollapseDescription

Summary Solutions driven scientist who has demonstrated proficiency on a number of diverse problems, specializing in the interface between physics and computer science. Currently working as a key developer of Lynx, a software system that is used by broadcast meteorologists (TV weathermen) to display weather information for the public. Lynx is a large scale system that displays a wide variety of weather information and is tuned to deliver both daily and severe weather information in an accurate and timely fashion, while also having an appearance that is very pleasing to the viewers. In my previous position I was employed at Visidyne in the applied physics group, where I worked on a wide range of different types of technical projects. On some of those projects I served as the project manager and others as a member of the technical team. I have broad experience in computational physics, scene generation, nuclear phenomenology, GPU programming (using cg) and real time graphics programming. I have presented my work to a wide variety of audiences, both in program reviews and in workshops/tutorials. I have excellent social skills and have successfully kept my customers happy, both in the commercial sector and in the government contracting regime. I am extremely motivated and am a self starter who enjoys working both in a team setting and alone.
