COVER LETTER: To whom it may concern: Over the course of my career, I have managed teams that allowed me the opportunity to connect with all levels of technical personnel, as well as, a number of the business managers and executives, maintaining a strong working relationship with them all. These projects have used various Project Management methodologies (i.e. PMBOK, Agile) implementing change management principles. I am also an active member of the Madison Chapter of the Project Management Institute. Additionally, I have successfully executed projects under these methodologies and have a full understanding of project management, tools, processes, and procedures, as well as, maintaining a strong working relationship with my clients (internal or external). In addition to this current experience, as you can ascertain from my detailed resume, I have extensive operational, marketing, auditing and technological skills. Of particular note are my strong accomplishments where I have created, recommended and implemented innovative control, strategic and operational solutions over the 30 years of my career. Management: "The role of the Executive Director is to design, develop and implement strategic plans for the organization in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. The Executive Director is also responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organization. This includes managing committees and staff as well as developing business plans in collaboration with the board." Charles W. Hill I have managed organizations, departments and projects over the course of my career which include the establishment, development, and execution of work plans, defining requirements, analyzing business needs, implementing changes, setting milestones, schedules, burn-down charts, budgets, and preparing the required documentation as per the methodology used by the organization. This included interviewing business and technical users, documenting existing workflow and processes, staffing of the projects (including ERP), leading teams, preparing and delivering both verbal and written presentations and reports, financial oversight, development of financial procurement supportive documentation, and performing ROI activities. Examples of this occurred while at TRS (government), Ernst & Yong (Big 4 Accounting firm), as well as, while at Kemper Insurance (corporate Insurance Fortune 50), where I documented the cash flow process throughout the insurance company. During this process, I identified control and operational issues that resulted in the creation of a "war room" group of managers that I led. While at ADP (Financial Fortune 100), I led a team that reviewed operational, and technology processes of electronic and manual votes that resulted in improved efficiencies and control over the electronic voting process. Coordination of Business Analysis Efforts: While at Ernst & Young, I was responsible for several large clients (i.e. Viacom (including Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures (Entertainment), Morgan Stanley (Banking), New York State Teachers Retirement System and Teachers Retirement System of Texas (Retirement Pension Funds)), these activities included managing the various projects on behalf of the client. This work included status reporting, coordinating work (scope, design, development and implementation of systems, as well as, changes to processes), working on applications which include banking, accounting, brokerage, customer relationship management (Microsoft, HP, PeopleSoft & Siebel), and sales force automation systems. In addition to the items found in Project Management section above, I established baselines and performance criteria, analyzed business process, re-engineered systems and processes, worked with executives to define scope and ROI, identified risks and impacts of projects, performed user acceptance and integration testing, and coordinated implementation and post mortem reviews. On a personal note, I hold a MBA in Management - IT, and B.S. in Accounting. I am a creative innovator as I have a reputation for developing situation-specific guidelines and procedures that facilitate improved productivity. Upon leaving Ernst & Young, I had to take care of a family commitment, which became a fulltime job at that time. I am a highly versatile I adjust easily to changes in working conditions while staying focused on managing multiple projects to conclusion. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my background and experience in detail at a mutually agreeable time. Thank you and I look forward to exploring this matter further. Sincerely, N. Thomas Hittner
