PROFILE: Forty-three (43) years of proven post-Masters' experience in Medical and Behavioral Health Social Work, with expertise in geriatrics, dementia care, critical care and family caregiving. Solid background in program development, psychosocial assessment and psychotherapy, community outreach, professional and community education/training, cultural diversity training and supervision. Invited speaker and workshop leader since 1975 on health care, aging, social work issues, including cultural aspects of aging and caregiving and cultural competence. Experienced in volunteer and paid consultation to both community and professional groups/organizations. SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS: * Appointed to New Jersey EASE for Caregivers Advisory Committee by New Jersey Department of Aging and Community Services (DHSS), 2002 - 2005. Consultant on three subcommittees (Caregiver Assessment Training Diversity). Appointed as Faculty member for the caregiver-focused professional training program, "Understanding Caregiving across Cultures", sponsored by the Department. * Assisted in development and presentation of DHHS cultural competence and family caregiving training for NJ health and social service professionals, including "Understanding Cultural Competence in Geriatric Care" "Cultural Considerations in Psychiatric Screening" and "Emerging Caregiver Populations in the 21st Century".
