CollapseDescription

It all started with a creative imagination: I am told that it was easy to keep me busy as a child. I used to spend many hours keeping myself entertained with a cassette recorder and a radio. I loved listening to music, recording it and experimenting with editing. There were no personal computers in those days to make editing easy. I used scissors, tape, a screwdriver and worn out batteries to make my unique audio productions. Taking apart cassette tapes and putting them back together was an everyday exercise for me. An interest in changing how things work and creating something out of what you have around the house continued through high school as I became interested in cars and motorcycles. Upgrading and repairing automobiles and motorcycles came easy to me and I was fascinated in making things work better. So deciding to get into electronics and engineering was no big surprise. I took machine shop classes in high school to learn how to make unique things out of cold rolled steel, and later I majored in electronics engineering technology at DeVry Institute of Technology (now known as DeVry University) in Columbus Ohio to focus on the latest in technology… electronics. Since that time, I now have 19 years of engineering work experience, in a field that has enabled me to combine my machinist skills and electronics engineering: Diesel Engine & Aircraft Jet Engine Electronic Controls Development.

In my current role, I have created an important bridge between controls development and OEMs. As a result, the 2010 transition from research to production with new Onboard Diagnostics regulations will be a very smooth and successful one.
