SUMMARY As a supervisor of the patrol division, I was certified as the first Field Training Officer to assist new deputies assigned to the patrol division. I have continued to teach throughout my career in efforts to maintain professionally trained officers for our community. When our department was afforded the opportunity to form a water rescue team, I piloted the program and was the driving force for the purchase and acquisition of a new state of the art air boat to better serve our team members, our community, and our surrounding counties. I was the first certified crash-reconstructionist on our department and remain in this capacity. I have worked hundreds of these types of calls, studying the forensics of crash investigations and vehicle dynamics, and testifying in court to such investigations. As Road Commander, I assisted with the development of redesigning police wiring schematics with a 1 point power shut-off, redesigning of the speaker system and interior lighting for increased officer safety, and saved the department thousands of dollars for the police fleet budget. I also rewrote the bid sheet for the purchase of over 55 police vehicles for the department again, saving the department thousands of dollars in the fleet budget. In 2006 I was certified by the FBI as the departments first Hostage Negotiator. I have assisted in several of these types of calls. In 2004 I graduated from the FBI National Academy 216th Class. This was very valuable training in several studies, including current forensics of at-scene investigations, law enforcement psychology, federal statutes as compared to local statues, and one of the most important is working relations with almost every state, along with almost 20 outside nations. This academy is only attended by less than 1% of all law enforcement officers and is set at outside agency contacts and assisting those attending in reaching their highest career paths. I have had a very fulfilling career in law enforcement. I am currently seeking a position where I am able to utilize my skills and knowledge, while moving forward with my career.
