Achieved this by designing/improving tooling and improving processes. project also was recognized by top management due to fact that team did an outstanding job completing the project ahead of schedule. * Procurement of new machinery to reduce labor cost improve quality. * Exercised 5S to work environment. Examples are removing waste identification of all tools placing them in proper locations for ease of assembly and making flow smooth and easy. . ( Achieved an annual savings of $550,000 by eliminating the route cause and implementing corrective actions for customer returned units. * Saved an annual amount of $200,000 by addition of a new improved bayonet installation machine at Tijuana plant. Wrote and issued the corresponding process specification and trained the assembly/QC personnel which not only resulted in cost savings but also improved quality and OTD. * Reduced annual cost of assembly by $250,000 and also improved safety by purchasing installing and implementing new machinery such as clip loader machines Semi-Automatic 2 line stripping machine semi-auto logo marker on contacts new cleaning unit for soldered filter modules using water based solvent and automatic packing machine. As part of lean manufacturing identified any bottle necks in assembly line to have a smooth flow of work. (Automobile manufacturer) SUMMARY: Overall have over 26 years of experience in lean manufacturing and 5S which are major areas of a manufacturing engineer job.
