During my time at the Desert Research Institute (DRI) I have developed the skills and habits necessary to efficiently complete the tasks required of a detail orientated job. The ability to follow standard operating procedures and be mindful of potential safety hazards is a must when working in a laboratory setting, and is a skill that I have developed while working in the laboratory at DRI. My time constructing and maintaining the thermal/optical carbon analyzers, that the lab depended on, necessitated that I keep in regular communication with the lab supervisors and other technicians working in the lab to insure that deadlines were met and all analyzers performed within specification.
My ability to work independently within a larger group structure allows me to develop plans of action to be approved by the chain of command and then carried out with minimal supervision. I have the capacity to organize and prioritize tasks in a quickly changing time frame while following strict regulations and procedures that uniquely positions me to be an excellent candidate for any career.
