Description
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) with diverse populations. I currently provide group and individual therapy for men and women on high risk probation. Coming on board during the programs initial inception I was instrumental in creating this unique curriculum and have continued to shape its growth as the population we serve has grown. As the program's primary therapist I have built and maintain solid relationships with probation officers. I continue to assist with psycho education and decision making through meetings with staff and supervisors. In addition I supervise four intern therapists and a concurrent program at juvenile hall a curriculum I also helped create. I have always maintained an interest in working with unique and underserved populations first as an intern counselor for Hayward Police Department where I performed crisis work counseling and crisis intervention. I later worked as a rehabilitation activity leader for an acute psychiatric facility for adolescents facilitating group therapy sessions that draw out past hurts and encourage life change.
