My name is Tamara Smith, and I am a graduate from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, which is a NASAD accredited institution. Since I started college as a mechanical /aerospace engineering major, I have obtained some knowledge of engineering basics, including computer-aided drawing using SolidEdge. I have held a part-time position at the National Space Science and Technology Center for six years where I utilized this program to render engineering drawings.
I have completed the graphic design program at UAH, as well as two printmaking classes in addition to other art courses necessary to complete the requirements for a Bachelor’s degree in art with an emphasis in graphic design. While taking the graphic design classes, I have become proficient in Adobe Illustrator CS and CS2, Adobe Photoshop 7.0, CS, and CS2, Adobe InDesign CS and CS2, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004, and Macromedia Flash MX 2004. Moreover, I have submitted several works that have been selected to be displayed in various art shows at UAH. A portion of my graphic design work has won awards at the 2006 Crop Marks Show at UAH.
In addition, I worked as the layout editor for UAH’s school newspaper, The Exponent. While there I have learned how to utilize Adobe PageMaker 7.0 to layout articles, ads, and photographs in the paper.
Thank you for considering me for your company and I hope that I can fill a place on your staff. I have the knowledge and experience to become a valuable asset to your graphic design group, and I would love to contribute my talents to your team.
