COVER LETTER: Dear Mrs. Gunnell OBJECTIVE: to become the Wayne High School Principal in the Huber Heights City School District. My talent management strategies will focus on staff development and coaching for school leaders and instructional professionals. I will collaboratively build upon the vision for the Huber Heights City School District and work closely with the community and other agencies in representing school concerns of the city. In my current and prior positions, I delivered meaningful professional development sessions on data review and lesson delivery. My staff and I with the assistance of local financial agencies in the community impressed the state treasurer with a Financial Literacy Showcase. I accepted meaningful coaching from Scholastic with an emphasis on Daggett Educational Strategies to improve academic achievement. I utilized the Danielson Framework for the evaluation of teachers. I provided community members, parents, staff and students with knowledge of complexities surrounding student behavior, bullying and sexual harassment in educational settings. I have experience conducting investigations in sensitive and confidential manners. I demonstrated knowledge of investigations and/or interviewing for information gathering. I provided in-service training to others with roles and responsibilities of District officials and students' rights under FERPA and HIPAA legislation. I have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential communications. My staff and I created cultures of high academic expectations with positive relationships. We worked with students and collaborated with academic and administrative units. We interpreted the District Student Code of Conduct and Title IX rights and responsibilities. My staff and I established a shared vision to communicate with all constituent groups. My staff and I aligned organizational structures and systems to enhance our vision. We built leadership capacity through an empowerment model application decision tree. We aligned teacher/administrator selection, support, and evaluations. We have supported decision making with relevant data systems through the Rigor and Relevance Framework. In closing, as a servant leader, my purpose is to assist people become the best they can be. Therefore, I encourage colleagues and students to be risk-takers through team building activities. Leaders must build a team spirit that celebrates diversity. Teams must share a common goal, but not the same talents. Teams mature when the leader insist on positive efforts and celebrates what everyone does together. Former UCLA basketball coach John Wooden said, "Individuals win trophies, but teams win championships."
