Description
I was born and raised on a farm and did most of the usual farm tasks. In high school I was President of the local chapter of the Future Farmers of America. Following high school I attended and graduated from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC with a degree in Business Administration and Bible. For approximately a year after graduating from Bob Jones University I worked for a company installing bulk tanks on dairy farms; this included doing carpentry, masonry, and electrical work. At the same time I was an evangelist, conducdting several evangelistic campaigns. It was while I was installing a bulk tank on a farm that I came in contact with the first church I was to pastor. With over 40 years experience in communication, as a pastor, I have learned how to relate to people of all ages. For over 20 of those years I helped a church start a school for grades K through 12 and served as the school Principal. While serving as principal of the school I had the opportunity to interact with children, not only educationally, but as a friend in various playground and sports activities, including coaching the school's basketball team. I also served the South New Berlin Volunteer Fire Department as a Chaplain as well as an ambulance driver and fire fighter. This gave me many opportunities to visit people in their homes and/or hospitals following an incident to which we had responded. I am in good health and enjoy hunting, fishing, and playing sports: softball, basketball, and golf. I have directed many children's activities - occasionally using a "dummy" - I am an amateur vendtriloquist. My preference would be to pastor another church. If that doesn't happen, then I am open to work in a secular field where my past experience would fit in.
