Provided and insured the security and safety of Haitian refugees and Cuban detectors while maintaining perimeter security for the U.S. naval Base at Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Safely escorted detectors to proper Naval investigation officers. For BLT 1/8 Bravo Company Camp Jejune NC conducted prisoner escort. For providing personal security overseas received Letter of Appreciation from the Under Secretary of The Navy. Achieved meritorious promotion to Lance Corporal and promoted to Corporal in 2.5 years. As a Squad Leader held responsibility for the supervision of 8-12 junior Marines. Conducted training for Marines in Nuclear Biological Chemical detection swim qualifications and Machine Gun proficiency.
