Description
I am looking for a permanent position with a strong company for a long term commitment, Unfortunately, I have made some poor decisions with the companies that I have chosen to work for and many of these decisions has resulted in layoff. I have at times chosen to do contract work rather than receive unemployment. Several jobs that I thought were my forever job, have not worked out that way. I am a degreed engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the design of machines, tooling, equipment, fixtures and products. I also have 18 years’ experience with Solidworks. In my most current job, I was working as a design engineer for a company that designs and builds waterslides, while this, interesting it did not utilize my talents. I have 5 years’ experience as a Design Engineer responsible for the design of work holding fixtures for the high speed machining industry. My duties included the design, documentation and development of hydraulically activated fixture. Prior to that, I was the Chief Engineer for a manufacturer of Granite and Marble countertop cutting machines. These machines were CNC controlled and used a diamond saw and or a waterjet to do the cutting. In both of these positions I used Solidworks Simulation regularly to verify my designs. As Chief Engineer I was responsible for all aspects of engineering including the design, development of the machines as well as the supervision of the engineering staff. I was also responsible for setting up the engineering drawing files, standards and database. I have the ability to Design and develop complete machines including components and assemblies to create equipment that is innovative, easy to manufacture, user friendly and meets cost targets. I have the ability to identify and implement all key elements of mechanical design by interfacing with sales and marketing associates, team members and customers. Maintain and create accurate, timely BOMs and drawings for transfer to Manufacturing. I have in the past and can still provide technical support to Manufacturing for new and existing designs to meet all shipping and startup schedules. Most machines were designed and built on a short time frame. All work was done using Solidworks software. Thank you for you time and I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Richard Hunter
