Description
SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES: - 16 years of experience in reputed consulting engineering companies out of which the initial 5 years were spent in water resources engineering and the following 11 years were spent in specialised geotechnical engineering. - My contributions were to lead a design team for successful completion of project deliverables and milestones within the baselines of scope, schedule and design budget. My strength is to inspire team members, motivate them to achieve the visions, and satisfy the needs and expectations of valuable clients. - I administered the measurement contract of subsoil investigation, assisted in contractual issues of retaining wall system, foundation piles and ground instrumentation. I successfully managed scope of works, variations, instructions to contractor, design support during construction and completion of the deliverables within the contract period. - I estimated the resources, schedule and developed the design budget. I claimed fee at regular intervals to the client for design services, and monitor the expenditures. Thus, I contributed in commercial management of a project. - Capability to solve geotechnical problems independently and committed to work beyond the office hours to complete the deliverables within the tight schedules. - The geotechnical project included Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) stations, cut-and-cover tunnels and deep basement excavation. The retaining wall system for MRT projects was Diaphragm wall, Secant bored pile wall and Contiguous bored pile wall etc. The supporting system of these retaining walls was ground anchor, floor slabs and strut and waler system. The methods of construction were semi top-down, island method and bottom-up construction. The supporting system of bored tunnel was precast segmental tunnel while supporting system for NATM tunnel was reinforce concrete lining. I analysed and designed of these supporting systems by empirical and finite element methods. - Contribution to manage design risks during planning, design, contractor management in tendering and construction stages. I am certified professional in Workplace safety and health management system, OSHAS 18001:2007. - Effective communication with all the stakeholders, smooth implementation of design services for construction, liaise with peer reviewer and excellent report writing capabilities. - My assistance to the top management for effective implementation and continual improvement of the quality management system, ISO 9001:2008. I am certified internal auditor. - Leading role in sustainability during planning, design and construction stages. I developed environmental impact assessment of demolition works and managed environmental issues during construction stage. - Certified professional in construction laws and contracts for Singapore and international projects. Well conversant in construction laws, contracts, Euro codes, BS codes, Singapore standard, ASTM standard and CIRIA guidelines. I am also well conversant in project management tools such as Microsoft project and good understanding in project management and contractual issues. of 6 Curriculum Vitae of Ferdous Important contribution in the salient projects is presented below. Meinhardt Amberg and TTI Engineering Pte Ltd is a reputed consulting organization for underground infrastructures and tunnelling projects. For further information: www.amberg.com.sg. Responsibilities : Mumbai sewage disposal project. The Project comprises 11 shafts and total 6.4 km long bored Tunnel (Infrastructure Project). of 6 Curriculum Vitae of Ferdous My role was to lead the design team to develop tender design in support of a contractor during tender stages. The deliverables were geotechnical interpretative report, retaining wall for shafts for 30 m deep excavation depth and pre-cast segmental linings for bored tunnels with the internal diameter of 3.6 to 4.6 m. Key strength: Management of a design team, risk management and sustainability during design development stages. : Construction of Springleaf and Mount Pleasant Station and Tunnels for Thomson line (Infrastructure Project). My role was to establish the design requirements of MRT stations launch shafts cross passages and bored tunnels. I established scope baseline, schedule with milestones and design budget. I managed with the design team to prepare feasibility study of different options of retaining wall considering constructability, sustainability, durability, safety and costing. The retaining wall systems were: (a) permanent and temporary Diaphragm wall (b) Secant bored pile wall and (c) a combination of Diaphragm and Secant bored pile wall. I ensured quality management system, ISO 9001:2008 and company procedures during project management and design process. Construction of Tunnels Between Woodlands Station and Woodlands Avenue 12 Including Crossover Tunnels and Reception Tunnels to Mandai Depot for Thomson Line, Singapore (Infrastructure Project). The excavation depth for Woodlands station and launch shaft was around 25 m. The alignments of bored tunnels were 30 to 35 m deep from the existing ground level. There were a number of critical structures along the alignment of bored tunnels and MRT station. My role was to prepare damage and impact assessment for critical structures due to the excavation and construction of bored tunnels. I prepared 3 stages of damage assessment. Key strength: Management of a design team, implementation of project quality plan, feasibility study and management of design risks during design stages. Responsibilities : Proposed SIM Campus Expansion for Singapore Institute of
