My name is Samantha Esposito. I graduated from Duquesne University in 2009 with my Bachelors in Science in Nursing. As a Registered Nurse I have worked on the critical care units at UPMC Mercy and UPMC Passavant hospitals. There I gained experience and knowledge in caring for critical medical, surgical, stroke, and trauma patients. I have maintained certified in BLS, ACLS, and stroke. As of May 2013, I graduated with my Masters from Carlow University Family Nurse Practitioner Program. I have achieved Nurse Practitioner certification from The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and hold a PA state license as a Nurse Practitioner. I want to utilize my knowledge, skills, and passion for nursing to provide holistic care within the communities of Pittsburgh. My goal is to reduce hospital/ICU admission through education and preventative care. I hope to empower patients to be active in their health and overall wellbeing. Thus far in my CRNP career I have worked to achieve this by working with a local Internal Medicine Practice, UPMC Pittsburgh Internal Medicine. There, I cared for patients 18 years and older. I conducted acute, wellness, and hospital follow up visits. I am currently working for Genesis Medical Associates as a part of an out reach program for their homebound patients. I am seeing these patient's for mostly hospital follow ups and routine visits, however I have seen several for acute visits as well. I would like to continue working for the people of my local community at a part-time basis.
