SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: results-oriented BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE. Consistently successful in controlling costs, developing new business processes, and improving net profitability while continuing to support critical operations. Background includes procurement responsibility up to $500 million annually. AREAS OF EXPERTISE Developed and created the first ever Innovation Challenge process at GSA/FAS for Heartland Region 6 (Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska) during FY2012. * Result: The White House picked 7 out of their top 12 innovations for the year from the Heartland Region. Created and led a process improvement initiative in FY2009 while at the USDA/Farm Services Agency to pull in-house work that had previously been done by an outside contractor for the Tobacco Transition Assessment Program (TTAP). This effort was initially done by 12 FTEs with an outside vendor and was incorporated into the receivable management operations with no increased headcount. * Result: Led to a cost reduction of over $1M annually to the United States government with increased efficiency and timeliness to senior level management. While at H&R Block responsible for managing a Program Management Office (PMO) with leadership for defining, tracking, and assisting multiple business units with over 27 processes and key initiatives for H&R Block impacting over 13,500 retail branch locations. * Result: Expense cost savings of over $22.5M in FY2006, and another $7.0M in new incremental cost savings in FY2007 for the U.S. Retail Tax business. * Developed and led the creation of a new Energy Management program for the organization. Led to first company-wide retail branch database to keep track of electricity and utility bills. Resulted in a 40% reduction in electricity usage, and conversion of over 1,000+ retail branch locations to energy saving light bulbs. Initiated, proposed, and directed the management of changes while at H&R Block to the approved schedules/budgets by mandating the appropriate procedures for Marketing, I.T., Finance, Procurement, Real Estate, and Call Center operations. * Result: Led to a more detailed long range planning process with more precise alignment with the Senior Leadership team, and a savings architecture plan of over $40M for FY08-FY2011. * Implemented and led an internal multi-functional team and an outside vendor in re-negotiating a company wide Telecommunications contract saving the organization over $7.8M for FY08/09/2010. area Leader of purchasing, contracting, and cost management of a 7-unit hospital network in the greater with annual revenues over $350M per year. Also in charge of the capital budgeting process for all major equipment purchases negotiating with all major vendors and establishing improved process improvements throughout the healthcare network.
