Description
I have acquired 26 years of experience in developing advanced materials and polymer reinforced composite structures. This includes thermosetting and thermoplastic resin systems with glass, carbon (pan and pitch), kevlar, quartz, silicon carbide, and bio-fiber reinforcements. I have knowledge in polymer kinetics, resin impregnated fiber systems (prepregging), and composite processing via vacuum bagging, compression molding, RTM, RIM, VARTM, and autoclave processing. Throughout these 26 years I have obtained expertise in Mechanical and thermal property evaluations on both polymer and composite materials. I am currently working on a High Temperature Composite Qualification Test Program through a Phase 2 SBIR extension with the Air Force Advanced Technology Program (ATP). After two years of hardcore testing, an Advanced Material Toolbox will be created which will enable transition to the end user. The end user (aerospace) will have a complete engineered materials package that is required to transition this new technology into structural components and manufacturing processes with confidence.
