CollapseDescription

I am interested in continuing my career in the field of Athletic Development/Strength and Conditioning Coaching in order to touch the lives of individuals interested in improving their physical body and mental wellbeing. A degree in Physical Education/Kinesiology, as well as experience as an elite athlete, and NCAA strength and conditioning coach is what motivates me to continue and education training individuals who are athletes pursuing excellence in their sport, or recovering from injury/surgery, and those simply wishing to improve fitness and quality of an active lifestyle. The key word is ‘Balance’ - in body to increase strength and stability – in mind for education and concentration on proper technique and mechanical skills – and in soul for peaceful pursuit of continued health and wellness. I have been involved with athletics, fitness and health education, from very young age. My experience with elite training and competition in gymnastics inspired me to pursue an education in Physical Education/Kinesiology. Through education I learned more intricately how the body works in order to achieve peak performance, as well as how to communicate the ideas of maintaining a healthy body. While pursuing my education I also continued an elite athletic career in rowing, working with my own coaches toward my competitive goals and earning a rank of 8th in Canada as a lightweight woman rower. Following graduation from University I have had the pleasure of working at two Universities (Villanova University and Bates College) as both a Strength & Conditioning and Rowing Coach. Not only did I get to work specifically with the Men's and Women's Rowing Teams at both schools; at Villanova I helped with football, swimming & diving, track & field, cross country, women's volleyball and women’s lacrosse. Also, at Bates I was the Fitness Director and Wellness Coordinator on campus, and developed appropriate programs for athletes, students, faculty and staff. Over the past six years I have continued to work with athletes as an independent trainer/coach, and have also continued to pursue my own athletics in Elite and Master's Cycling and Rowing. In addition to the hands-on coaching/teaching and athletic experience I have acquired, I have also learned a lot about health and wellness by overcoming personal health issues (eating disorder, immune system dysfunction, food allergies). My passion now lies in sharing the knowledge I have acquired through a multitude of experience with anyone who desires to make gains in health/fitness and athletic goals. I do hope that you may take the time to consider what I can offer to individuals and athletes alike, who are interested in improving quality of life and excelling in athletic pursuits.
