My name is Marines Parra and I recently graduated from Lindenwood University in Missouri with a Master’s Degree in Education. I am currently applying for a teaching position for elementary school. Along with my education, my previous work experience and strong work ethic will help me to stand out among other candidates. In December 2014, I completed my student teaching in a second grade classroom at St. Bonaventure School in Davie, FL. This invaluable experience taught me to apply my educational knowledge to the students by using project-based learning activities and technology-driven lesson plans. The second grade teachers taught me classroom management skills, conference techniques, and lesson planning. A native of Venezuela, I am fluent in Spanish and also highly proficient in technology. These skills will be an asset to my career in teaching. In November 2007, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Production Engineering. As an engineer, I developed strong ties to my community and organized activities that impacted the lives of children. From 2006-2012, I served as a Member of the Board and Facilitator for NGO, an organization aimed at helping underprivileged children and children fighting cancer. In addition, I coordinated the “Cuando Sea Grande” Project. This organization mentors and tutors teenagers in math and language enabling them to attend the best universities in Venezuela. Education is truly the key to success. As a teacher, I will inspire and motivate students to achieve their personal best. I am eager to begin a teaching career and look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Thank you for your time and consideration.
